Aspirants who are preparing for the SSC CGL 2023 examination must take note of these important dates

Exam Scheme for SSC CGL 2023

SSC CGL 2023 will be conducted in four tiers, and the Computer Based Examination will be conducted in two tiers. Tier 1 is a qualifying exam with a total of 100 questions for 200 marks. The time duration for Tier 1 is 60 minutes. Each correct answer will get 2 marks, and each wrong answer will result in a penalty of 0.5 marks.

Tier 2 will be conducted in four sections. Section 1 and Section 2 will have 30 questions each, with a maximum score of 180 marks. Section 3 and Section 4 will have 25 and 45 questions, respectively, with a maximum score of  210 marks, respectively. The total time duration for Tier 2 is 2 hours and 15 minutes. Each correct answer in Tier 2 will get 3 marks, and each wrong answer will result in a penalty of 0.5 marks.

After Tier 2, there will be a Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) module exam where candidates have to type 2000 keystrokes in 15 minutes. This test is also qualifying in nature. The final merit list will be based on the scores of Tier 1, Tier 2, and DEST (if applicable).

The Scheme of Tier-II Examination is as follows:

Section-I:
Module-I: Mathematical Abilities 30 Questions
Module-II: Reasoning and General Intelligence 30 Questions

Section-II:
Module-I: English Language and Comprehension 45 Questions
Module-II: General Awareness 25 questions

Section-III:
Module-I: Computer Knowledge Module 20 Questions

It is mandatory for the candidates to qualify all the sections of the Paper in the Tier-II exam. It will be mandatory for all the posts to qualify the Data Entry Speed Test (DEST), which will be qualifying in nature. However, candidates who wish to secure a post in the DEST category must maintain their accuracy in the test.
